Community Listening Party: Bridging Poverty & Privilege

Guest hosted by Beth Israel Congregation

Tuesday, September 21, 1-2:30 p.m.

Bridges Peterborough has grown a grassroots response to the community pandemics of poverty and isolation. After five years of experimentation, evaluation, and adapting to the lessons learned, we are excited to share the Bridging Team model (1min youtube video).

Arising from its interest in taking action towards Social Justice, Beth Israel Congregation invites people of all faiths – and of none – from near and far to join the ‘Party’ on Sept. 21, listen in, learn, and Change the Conversation around poverty in our communities.

Together we will:

  • Learn about Bridging Teams, meet some of the people who’ve been involved (under- and ‘over’-resourced)
  • Hear what the experience of growing life-changing relationships has meant in their lives
  • Discuss and create opportunities to change the conversation around poverty and/or use the Bridging Teams model in our communities, including the upcoming Bridging Poverty and Privilege: Growing Life-Changing Relationships 6-week Webinar this fall.

The gathering will run for one hour, including time for a few questions (ex: “Is it just about making friends?”), with an optional discussion to follow. To register for this free event, Please CLICK HERE .
